Good Customer Service - The Old Fashioned Way

January 24, 2018 By Matthew Wilson

Good customer service - with a phoneI have been designing websites for small businesses now for many years, and whilst a lot of things have changed, the ultimate aim of the website hasn't. Small businesses need a website to either promote what they are selling or to actually sell it online, and to do this, we as web designers need to ensure that the website is as easy to use as possible.

In this modern age with email, FaceBook and Twitter, it seems simple to fire off an enquiry to a business, however the customer doesn't know if the business has received the message, and must wait for the response. This could leave the customer to go elsewhere. With all this modern technology the best way to ensure you get the sale is to have a phone number on your website! Conversions from phone calls are far higher than through email or other slow electronic communication. Customer satisfaction is higher as their questions can be answered more easily and follow up questions are instantly answered.

So in short, if you want to maintain good customer service and realise the most from your website, make sure your phone number is on there. It need not be a mobile as landlines can be forwarded to mobiles, but a good answer rate at most times of the day will ensure you retain potential customers.Phone on website
